I ran into a reproducible issue with LED indications on soft keys for DCA spills.

  • Enable DCA Spill.

  • Assign Mix/DCA/X to a soft key (or assign several).

  • Confirm they work. When selected, the key flashes blue and the spill is active.

  • Save the show.

  • Reload the show.

  • Try the same soft keys. You get DCA spills, no LED indication.

  • Shutdown & restart the surface.

  • Try the same soft keys. You get the LED indication again.

In effect, to get the correct spill indication, you must reload a show then restart the console. Please add this to the 1.81 fix list, it just threw me for a loop on a show. There may be other issues, but this one was obvious.

I reported this issue to support months ago, I think it was last year.
Was definitely around in the 1.7 days, I know I’ve done at least 2 firmware updates where I’ve looked to see if it was fixed, maybe more.
What I hadn’t realised was that a reboot of the surface is a workaround, good to know.
I’d been reassigning the soft keys to something different and then back again, painful if you have many DCA spills.
