I love the form factor of my SQ5, but would like a larger screen. A 16 fader + 1 master Avantis would be something I would buy. It would look similar to a Yamaha QL1 which is a great small unit. It seems like a logical next step for the Avantis series.

A 12 fader surface may make more sense since the Avantis system is already built around 2 screens with 12 faders ea. Please excuse my poor photoshop skills.
aaronz, I agree that 12 faders would be more appropriate for the form factor. The SQ5 faders feel crowded to me. But a half-size Avantis would be excellent! Seems like a solid choice for smaller gigs/installations that still require the complexity and flexibility Avantis is capable of. Would also be a killer production console in a multiple-act setup.
Having less analog/AES i/o but still having two card slots would be great in my world, but curious what others would rather sacrifice.
+1 for either of the suggestions.
The two card slots are also an attractive feature of Avantis.
If you are considering a half-size card, reducing the number of card slots will reduce its attractiveness by half.
It should be Rackmoutable.
Have 2 option card slots.
Have a Tablet mount on top of the console (similar to the SQ)
Have more Fader banks. (to compromise for the other physical fader bank)
If space is limited, it Can have less custom buttons.

I have talked to ah they amount of hardware and stuff int the Avantis wouldn’t fit in one that size.
