I don’t understand why the standard treshold settings for any compressors is -12 and not 0 like every other mixing consoles in the world… I found it very annoying if you want to change compressor type during soundcheck / showtime.
Even if you try to bypass it before change it, it will turn on again after recall a different one.
It didn’t used to be this way.
AH should go back to the type selector on the iLive where you could change compressor type but threshold and ratio remained equivalent thru all emulations.
The problem is in the newer desks library is not only recalling a type its recalling the settings which, like you, I rarely want recalled.
That isn’t the case, different consoles, different settings, there is simply no standard.
I use my own presets for my starting points. That is a reason for the presets.
