Hello, we have the avantis for FOH and the SQ7 for live stream, both has dante cards in them we patch everything and for some reason im not getting a signal in the sq7 if someone can help me with the whole setup maybe im skiping a step. thank you
Hello,
Both Dante card are set correctly ?
In Dante Controller patch are correct and report no error (green check in patch view) between transmitter and receiver?
hi, yes in the dante controller everything is green and i was able to patch everything succesfully the only issue that im having now is that i get this popping and clipping sounds in the sq7 in each channel
This sounds like a clocking issue with Dante, check who is the clock master and who is following. Normaly when this is set up correctly you can forget about it.
“Popping and clipping sounds” points to a clock issue. You need to pick one console that will be the “master” clock for the entire system.
On the “master” console:
Set the internal console clock to “Internal”
In Dante Controller, set up this master console’s Dante card to “Enable Sync to Ext”. This tells the Dante card to look outside of the Dante system (ie look at the console) for it’s clock settings.
In Dante Controller, set up this master console’s Dante card to be “Preferred Master”
On the second “slave” console:
Set the internal console clock to “I/O Card” and choose the Dante card slot
In Dante Controller, set up this slave console’s Dante card to “Ext sync off”.
In Dante Controller, set up this slave console’s Dante card to be “Preferred Master Off”
This should fix the popping and clicking sounds.
wow thanks, im sure i didnt do those steps i will do that when i hit over there, one more question i have the one board connected to the primary and the other board connected to primary as well would that matters or should one be secondary to primary?
