Blue screen asking for password

A week ago I turned on the GLD and instead of booting as normal it presented a blue screen with a password box and no other lights on the mixer. Obviously you can’t enter a password without attaching a keyboard and I wouldn’t know what password it wanted anyway (Bios password?).

Fortunately turning the power off and on again resulted in it booting normally, but I am now nervous in case it happens again and won’t reboot.

In my panic I neither took a photo of the screen nor inspected the log :frowning:

It has booted with no problems subsequently (so far!)

There were no problems that morning, but this occured in the afternoon. It wasn’t particularly hot that day.

I’ve read the threads about CMOS battery, but that seems to result in a white screen and other lights on, so it doesn’t seem to be the same.

Any thoughts about what could be the cause? The mixer is of course about 8 years old now, but has never had a problem before.

I got into a similar menu with our dLive last week. The sequence was to power on, then power off a few seconds later, then power back on. I’m guessing it’s some sort of BIOS menu that’s password locked.

I was actually testing our UPS and forgot to switch back to wall power, so I turned off the console before it got to the boot sequence and I inadvertently discovered the secret menu.

I can’t say for certain your screen was the same as mine, but I’d suspect that it was.

Interesting. That does sound similar, but I hadn’t done anything strange. I just powered on as normal. We use an EMO power sequencer, so I suppose it is possible that somehow it glitched, but that seems unlikely.

Thanks for replying.
