Our SQ-7 is used a few times a week for worship services. On occasion, about every fourth time or so, the board seems to lose the settings we last used. When powering up the board, it does not “re-install” the gain, EQ, etc. we were using when we powered down the previous time. Mics are hot and channels work, but they do so at reduced volume or different EQ. We have saved our favorite settings in a scene. When we recall that scene, things seem to work fine. The physical faders don’t move when we make this correction.
So we’re wondering: While it is not a huge deal to reset the scene, just wondering if this is something that may cause more problems later? Ist here a simple solution we’re missing?
Thanks in advance.
Are people ‘playing’ during the week?
This happens with our SQ7… People ‘play’!
This is how we operate our SQ7.
We have a password for the Admin account that only a few of us know.
We have created an AVTEAM user with access to scenes 10 and upwards.
We have also created a GUEST user with a limited range of access to scenes.
There is a different default scene for the AVTEAM and GUEST user and these default scenes are below number 10, so they cannot be overwritten by their user accounts.
When the AVTEAM logs on, they start from the default scene (which the system loads automatically after asking the user a question).
They configure the desk as the user wants and save it to a specific scene.
This works for us and works very well. We don’t rely on whatever was stored on the desk last time it was shutdown. This may have been a guitarist that had been in during the week practicing and left the desk in some unknown state.

Thanks! The crazy thing is: no one touches it during the week when we have these issues. It’s a mystery to me.
I assume you are shutting the desk down correctly?
Dave
Do you log in as different users and a perhaps saved ‘User Scene’ is loaded automatically?
I appreciate the suggestion. I have reviewed the shut down procedures with our team. We will see if this solves the issue. Thanks!
