I have an SQ5 and I am using it for a tv broadcast audio recording. I can not go over -10db on my audio level. That being the case, I have my compressor set as a limiter (infinity) and at 9db with the fastest possible attack and release both. When the channel the mic is on distorts, I can still hear and it records the distortion instead of the “limited” audio. Is there something I am doing wrong, or what do I need to do to fix this issue?
Mmh… I am not sure, if I understand your question correctly… Distortion comes from the preamp… so the Limiter cannot change it. Lower the Gain, until the distortion disappears.

Make sure that you also have your compressor in PEAK mode, and not RMS.
