I had a very strange behaviour yesterday on a show. I activated the tube preamp on one channel and after that, the compressor on this channel didn’t work anymore. I de- and reactivated the in-button several times, but nothing changes. Of course I lowered the threshold, highered the ratio, changed attack/release times. Nothing helped. The Input levels were shwon as aspected but whatever I tried, there were no gain reduction at all.
Any ideas ab out it?
What compressor were you using?
Did you turn off the Tube Pre to see if that restored the compressor?
Were the Tube Pre and the same compressor working properly on other channels?
Was the Tube Pre working properly with other compressors?
I’ve never had this happen, so don’t really know why it happened. Narrowing down the cause and/or effect will help.
I used just the standard compressor. I didn’t change it, because it was in a live situation. Thats why I also didn’t wanted to de-load the tube preamp. I just switched it on and off, what did’nt help.
Anyway, I had the chance to try it again today and everything worked as expected. So, for some reason it was “cured” by just switching off and on the SQ. I guess these things can happen on every software based system.
