I’ll simply add that you should be careful with any inexpensive USB to XLR cables. Most of them don’t have any way of blocking phantom power if it is turned on. Sending phantom power (48v) to a device like this can certainly damage it.
Using something like a direct box or the SoundWire by Sonnect will help protect your phone/tablet/laptop from being damaged due to phantom power being applied to that input channel.
