I would like wirelessly to mute and change faders etc from an app that can (only) send midi to virtual ports. So how do I create an visible virtual port for CQ-20B in order to control it?
..or am I on a wrong track here?

I’m using BandHelper
Assuming that this app can send hex midi, you can try to use my third app (développed fo stage trax 3 but not only).
On you ipad, instal “Web Midi Browser”, a free app that handle Midi API.
Connect the CQ to the Ipad.
Open my link into Web midi browser and select the CQ in the dropdown menu.
Now, clic/move anything you need on the CQ (via CQMixpad) and you’ll have the Hex midi displayed into my app.
Copy/past as per your need into BandHelper.
when i connect to my mixer I use wifi (the mixers wifi) so Im not connected to the internet at the same time.
I can open your link in web midi browser before I swith wifi to the mixer. However then I dont see any dropdown in your app?
Is your app for finding the right midi code only? (Because I know the midi codes from the mixers reffence manual, but I cant connect bandhelper to the mixer as it doesnt se it as a virtuel port (or am I missing something?) 
The CQ only receives MIDI over it’s USB port at this time, so no wireless unless you attempt to use a USB midi transmitter.
Just wonder how MixPad and Mixing Station etc are communicating with the mixer over WiFi?
It’s TCP protocol only, no midi.
