CQ-20B Best of Both Worlds?

Waffled a lot between the CQ-18 and CQ-20 and finally landed on the CQ-20. I play in a few different bands with different configurations, play solo quite a bit, and also host a couple songwriter nights at different venues. What I’m realizing is that, although I know a box like the CQ-20 is generally best placed on the ground, I like to have my inputs accessible (i.e., within reach from my stool/standing position) for some of these configurations. I would love a branded/official tablet mount that allows me to physically attach an iPad or other tablet to the front of the unit. It’d also make it easy in certain hosting configurations to take the tablet into the audience and/or to plug in others’ instruments into the box.

Oh… one of the reasons I went with the 20 was that it was harder for strangers to mess with AND because of the Hi-Z inputs. Saves me to some extent when folks (including me) forget direct boxes.

Maybe that idea is too niche or easily DIYed, but I’d love to hear others’ thoughts.

Not sure I call it best placed on the ground/floor. Rack it in a small rack at least and or at least set it up on case or something to keep it out foot traffic and possibly getting something spilled on it.
It can be out of the way since your going to be running it with a phone or iPad.

Agree on your floor comment!.. The floor thing was more based on my experience with these sort of boxes (not having a persistent need enough to lug around a rack mount setup).

Gator makes a titan case that houses the CQ20b & I-Pad with all cords: It also makes an 8 inch protective lift up from the stage floor or ground. I have my I-Pad mounted on my mic stand and have perfect access to all controls, including BU tracks, while performing my solo show or Bluegrass band performances.
