Cq18t -20db pad

I need help with how to activate the -20db Pad on the cq18t mixer. The specifications say that the line inputs (combi sockets) have -20dB Pad (Fixed).

Is this already active? How do I activate?

The 1/4 inch input on the combo jacks is pre set with a 20db pad.

Thanks. So if I use the 1/4 inch input I get the -20db. If I use an xlr cable into the combo jack I do not get the -20db?

I am wondering as I am looking to run the main output of another mixer into the cq18t and don’t want to overload the inputs. The other mixers main out is XLR.

There is still no solution for this; it is a big problem when mixing metals and other instruments with a high sound pressure… I don’t know why they would make the decision to omit a pad on the input, it’s simply ridiculous or maybe it done it cheaper

There can be no (software) solution for this.
The combo jacks are wired this way, and the switching relays are not present.
And yes, of course, this is also a cheaper solution.

So, you’ll unfortunately have to connect all instruments whose levels are too high for microphone inputs to line inputs, i.e., the TRS of the combo jacks.
Also, check if you could reduce the output levels inside the instruments or use DI boxes with attenuators, for example.
