Custom screen with extra 'soft' buttons

Apart from the custom layers, which are very nice, it would also nice to have an extra screen with some more soft buttons. Three hardware soft buttons are very nice, but for my main uses i would love to have some more. The three hardware softbuttons i use mainly for 1) a mute all 2) start recording stereo to USB 3) switch smart rotaries on/off. This selection is based of what i’d like to use immediatly on whatever screen i am. But there are a lot of use cases for a bit more softbuttons:

  • muting (mute groups, individual channels, FX)
  • more buttons for recording, playing, prev/next
  • scene recall
  • etc

An option to add to the current softbuttons to open a specific screen, at least this new softbuttons screen, would be very helpfull then.

I’m pretty sure the system is pretty much locked down, and the screen is nearly not large enough to accommodate what you’re asking, at least that’s what i find. But luckily there’s Mixing station, and with a much larger screen from a tablet you cand totally create your custom layouts, and soft buttons and make the board to your own liking. Furthermore, you can save the config and use it on other mixers…

Thanks for the tip for Mixing Station. Although in my daily use i don’t like to use an extra device. I’like to use the CQ screen and buttons which works perfect. So that’s the reason behind my whish to have more options in the onboard UX.
