DC Passthrough on Tie Lines

I’m reasonably certain this would require a hardware change so maybe this is more of a “whatever comes after the dLive suggestion”, but letting Tie Lines pass DC would enable the I/O to be hooked up to synthesizer CV lines and guitar amp control pedals. It was just a thought I had as I was wiring the stage today and, with the help of a pair of Radial SGI boxes and Tie Lines, was able to route the signal from the guitarist’s pedalboard through the MixRack on to his amp all bundled up nice & neat with everything else, but I had to run a 1/4” cable clear across the stage to plug in his channel switching pedal. It’s one more place people have to worry about tripping, and it’d be nice if I could just pass that through the MixRack, too.

I mean, I’ll probably go find a 1/4” coupler in a minute and extend the cable so it at least goes neatly around the edge of the stage, but it’d be nice if I didn’t have to.

It is a digital connection…

From my perspective, you could solve your problem by using coded audio signals for control.
In the simplest case, the transmitter is a signal generator (on/off) and the receiver is a threshold relay (on/off).
Several different “relays” could be remotely controlled using the familiar DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) protocol.
And of course, CV would also be possible - it all depends on the encoding between the corresponding transmitters and receivers.

I really expected to be able to buy a ready-made solution from the professional audio sector for something like this, but unfortunately, I can only find DIY solutions.
Perhaps something exists and I’m just using the wrong search terms - or it really is a gap in the market.

Yeah, I thought of that after I posted. Out of curiosity, did any of the DIY solutions look viable?

It actually just depends on the knowledge and skills of the “DIY” person.
In the simplest case, you send a constant tone via a foot switch, and a relay on the receiving end switches when the tone is present.
