Digital inputs

Hi from a newbie to this forum.

Here is a suggestion for an extra type of add-in card for the SQ series.
That would be a card with some type of digital input.
Since the SQs don’t have a word clock output,
that would likely also mean sample rate conversion instead of locking to the SQs.

An ADAT, AES or SPDIF card is what I really mean,
but how about a card that has only a BNC connector with word clock output?
If that would work, it would be for those like me who are willing to go the extra mile for this feature.

I am seriously thinking of purchasing an SQ7, and this is my only reason for hesitation.
I own several machines that have digital I/Os; yes they also have analog(sometimes RCA), but that is beside my point.
Interfacing digitally with them is important for me.
And no, I will not purchase a DX32 just for one ADAT of a few AES or SPDIFs inputs.

If there is another option that already exists aside from going without, please chime in;
I am no expert, but love to learn.

Sincerely,
Dan

Maybe this is too expensive but you could use a Dante Extension Card in Combination with some Dante Breakout Box that has AES/EBU Connectors. There are several ones from third party Vendors.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, that is a solution. It is going to add a fair amount to the purchase but possibly doable.
I will check into that. However, I know that anything that has the word DANTE is expensive, at least for me.

My suggestion still holds, though. At a minimum, a clock output card likely would not be a major investment for Allen & Heath.
It would permit the SQs to work alongside other digital products that is not possible now. …or expensive.

A clock output card is a waste of the card slot.
The MADI card has all you need. It gives an WC connector and two MADI interfaces.
64 channels with 96kHz are possible.
