Love the new NEQ 12 band option. Great move!
Love optional steepness selections for both HPF & LPF!
Hate lost opportunity to allow ‘Q’ adjustment for the shelving setting. (maybe in a future release?)
I have updated my dLive yesterday and played around with some of the new features at home using a live recording and virtual soundcheck. Some really great new featurs, especially the expanders are a desperately awaited feature (when will it be implemented in the SQ? don’t want to put pressure on A&H, but can I have it next week? ). So all fine, but with a little point for an improvement. The custom names for the IO ports are shown in all routing screens except the one for the virtual soundcheck. Can you also use the custom names in the drop down list there as well?
Woohoo! I’m relatively new to the A&H world, and this is the first non-maintenance release I’ll be installing. May I assume that the current ME, DX, and I/O card firmwares are compatible?
Fantastic news. thanks A&H for the well done update…
However my first issue , at least on my computer screen (haven’t looked at the console screen yet) is the glaring contrast of the yellow and the white on the help page in director…can’t read a word… used to be black on yellow…on my macs…this could be however because I have chosen a dark screen display on the mac M1. big sur…!!!
Back in 2008, I suggested equipping the iLive with an RTA solution that is displayed directly in the EQ window. I had seen this at the Pro Light and Sound in Frankfurt at a digital console study by EAW and it immediately excited me.
Now, many years later, my wishes have finally been granted!
First in the SQ, I liked that. But what the developers have now presented for the dLive is a grandiose over-fulfilment of my wishes!
This will make our work even more target-oriented.
There have also been many other useful improvements, which I cannot go into further due to lack of time.
I got to spend some time with 1.9 yesterday, and am very pleased with this update. I played with some virtual sound checks that I have, and really like the new features. The bus compressor sounds great! Have a show scheduled for the dLive in 2 weeks, and can’t wait to use some of the new stuff.
Is it possible to update only one console on a multi-mixrack system? Or do any consoles that receives or sends audio over an IO port have to be on the same firmware?
If you only exchange the raw data, i.e. the pure audio signals, e.g. via Dante or MADI, then you do not need a firmware update on all units.
This is just like sending the audio data from your dLive via MADI to a Yamaha console.
Only if the devices have to share control data, i.e. Surface to Mixrack, do they both need the same firmware.
