Hey Allen & Heath team - CQ is a great little mixer family! It would be even more powerful if you could bring some of the plug-ins to the CQ platform. The one I’m missing the most is DynEQ4. That would be a game changer!
Ain’t gonna happen. There’s nowhere near enough processing power in the CQ.
My hopes if they have Feedback Assistant (FBA) working I don’t think that DynEQ4 require much more processing power.
If you think about it logically: With add-ons like that, A&H could earn extra money, so if it were technically feasible, they certainly wouldn’t have passed up the opportunity.
And one quick correction regarding terminology: The DynEQ4 you mentioned is not a “DEEP” add-on - not even on the higher-end consoles.

Here I’m offering something even more powerful than DynEQ4, something inspired both by Steinberg - Frequency 2 - an 8 band DynPEQ.
CQ series already support most of the needed tools. In theory they just need to extend the PEQ to 8 bands and combine it with the Compressor per band, and make it insertable per channel.
Unfortunately we don’t have any official statement from A&H on the technical aspect of the implementation…
The CQ-18T has the perfect portable console design, just it lacks few essential features to be called “The Swiss Army Knife” of the mixers.
CQ series is a type of console that should serve in a “harsh” and “unfriendly” environments as restaurants, small venues, open areas where the setup is mostly mono, and the speakers aren’t high-end. This means Dynamic EQ and De-esser are “must to have” as we need to be able to control the sound by side-chaining and ducking.
