I have never had this problem before. Assigned a channel from a device (let’s say an A&H SQ6). Sent those channels through the I/O to a Dante VSC on a MBP. Has always worked like it should. I see transmission from the SQ and reception on the MBP
Dante Controller to MBP to the Inputs in Reaper for two tracks (lets say L/R on 21/22). Two tracks assigned Input 21 and 22. Every thing routed fine, all green on Dante Controller. Input device in Reaper Preferences set the DVS. All sample rates set to 96k. Outboard SSD sees the Reaper app, sees the saved projects.
Inputs will not see signal!! I can not for the life of me figure out why. It seems it has worked perferctly in the configuration for years. Pulling my hair out.
Pretty sure it is one box checked or not checked.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for any help. Can’t test theories until tomorrow, butI appreciate any help.
The Dante Virtual Soundcard software is actively licensed? If you have a “transferable” license, it has to “phone home” about every 60 days. I beleive it can stop working if it cannot access the licensing servers properly in that time frame. If you have a non-transferable license, that should work “offline” indefinitely however.
As soon as you send audio from the device over i/o → Dante, the little loudspeaker symbols for that channels in the device properties in Dante controller start to pulsate? That shows you, that there is actual signal incoming and the fault is AFTER the Dante routing.
Is it just one channel that isn’t making the trip but others from the SQ are? Does Dante Controller show signal on the transmit side? and on receive side? Try mapping the Dante input to something else and then back again.
