I noticed this has been suggested as a feature for the SQ products, so I will add a similar suggestion to the CQ series.
It would be handy to have an FX rack type in the mixer for easily connecting an external FX chain without a lot of complex routing in the rest of the UI. The UI already has options to allow for easy/quick configurations of other things, so having this kind of simplified setup consolidated as an FX isn’t a stretch for the consistency of the UI.
Allow the user to direct an arbitrary number of outputs to an arbitrary number of inputs, and dedicate those ins/outs to that FX rack. For instance send the signal out on outputs 1, 3, and 5, and accept the returned FX signal on stereo in L/R, or a handful of other inputs. It should also work with USB ins/outs to allow for VST based effects of course.
Lock any inputs used in the FX rack in the rest of the UI to potentially avoid confusion.
This would allow for things like mono-to-stereo fx, stereo-to-mono, parallel fx pedal chains, etc.
Allow the user to give their custom external FX chain a name, and save it either in the scene or as a stand-alone FX rack.
