SQ6. If I have a speaker on before the mixer, I get a second of feedback on startup. No signal going into the mixer yet. Sounds kind of like an fx feedback loop, but it stops on its own. I know, turn on the speakers last, but I expect a pop, not loud feedback.
I noticed that it seems to be coming from a single mic channel, based on the led meter. It shows a level going up into the red, then down. With the mic disconnected, it doesn’t go into the red, but still shows.
Do you mean during the brief startup process (boot), or only afterward, once the console is ready for use?
So, nothing is connected to any inputs yet?
So it sounds like an internal feedback and not an external feedback from the speaker via a microphone?
That sounds as if something is already connected when the console is switched on.?
And: Did you mute all inputs before shutting down?
I get this on a DLive sometimes. It only lasts a second so I haven’t bothered to worry about it. It’s definitely something with the console because we never get feedback during a show. I don’t know if the console initializes with some gain setting cranked way up and then the “show” loads and it gets reduced to the actual set level or what.
