Gain compensation

Is it possible to set the firmware to allow for increase of gain to be balalnced by a reduction to the mix outputs similar to the function in the Avid consoles?

no
gain compensation has nothing to do with mix outputs

but it was a planned feature for dlive to implement some kind of gain compensation

Sorry might have been a bad way of putting it, on the Avid consoles if there is aux outputs assigned to an input (ie foldback or in ears) and the gain is increased due to performer being at a lower volume than during sound check so the gain needed to be increased then the assigned then they would reduce their output accordingly. Note only theaux outputs not the Main L/R output

That seems quite a counterproductive feature. The whole point of adding gain to an input, is because you want more of the input source in the mix. Why would you then want anything to decrease in volume, when the whole point of gaining an input, is to adjust for insufficient signal level. Sorry, please don’t use your time on features like this - there are much more pressing issues to be addressed.

Its not a mix at 0 bs as was suggested and it does allow for the signal in the FOH mix to be increased, all it does is reduce the signal in the foldback to maintain the same level if it didnt do this then you can end up with feedback issues thru the foldback. You may see it as counter productive but if you get on an avid console then you would understand it.

Strikes me the simple answer is to buy and Avid console.

The Venue SC48 that I’m working on regularly does not use this feature,
otherwise we would throw it to hell…
