Hi Ben,

I’m very pleased that A&H released a new firmware. I would like to have more information about upgrades and fixes before installing. the release notes are very thin and I dont see a new instruction manual posted. Where can we get more info ?

Had hoped for Ducker and spill.

Can we see what the “various minor fixes” are?

Side-chain compression/expansion? Please say its in there…

In the editor not present…

John. There is no love for SCC just like with HPF on outputs. I doubt we will ever see either. These guys don’t work in the real world of using these.

Sad as I believe this will be the last feature update for the GLD. Can anyone at A&H confirm this? I really was holding out hope.

John

Hello swarm intelligence,
Do you have any experience with the new firmware so far?
Improvements? Glitches?
I have a large show coming up and am reluctant to upgrade before that. The GLD upgrade is reversible, but once I upgraded the iPad software, there‘s no way back.

As we‘re at it: is there a way to copy and paste EQ settings via remote software? When I dialed in a monitor EQ via iPad on stage, I have to walk up to the console to copy it to my other mon mixes. Am I missing something there?
Thanks a lot for your inputs…

Not on the iPad app. But you can do it on GLD Editor if you use a Windows tablet instead.

Thanks ,Art!
No Windows tablet here, but your tip leads me to another idea:
Run GLD editor on my mac and remote that with Splashtop on my iPad…

I’ve never found Splashtop to be particularly good in this environment. Too slow and too imprecise IMHO.

So what would be the remote software of your choice?

I don’t think any of them work well enough in a live sound environment. That’s why I use a Windows tablet instead of an iPad.

@Pit Lenz - Jump Desktop has been working great for us. Compatible with iPhones, iPads and Macs.

It’s very fast. We’ve had no issues.

Not interested by this update, a phasing, it’s good for guitarists, and they come on stage with their effects so …
just the switch noise on the tape echo, yes that’s fine
This is uninterrupted work, programmers would do better to give the sources for us to make ourselves updates.
Happy New Year best wishes to users.

It is good to see, that A&H has not completely forgotten the GLD user.
But in my opinion this is not an update.
Maybe the should read the long list of feature requests and think about that.
Some EQ Presets are totaly useless for users which use this console already a few years.

it requires an internet connection, that is sometimes not possible
