I/O Names

It has been quite some time since I used this forum but it has been a great help. I recently updated our dLive to latest firmware after a big (2 churches combined) Christmas season, with a near complete reset and re-organization of our stage, ME’s, etc. This led me to observe and ask the following, and if these have been covered I apologize.

In the I/O screens everything is easy to understand but on the surface when you push the I/O button to change the scribble strips there is no distinction between input and output. Just R for rack, S for surface, P4 for our Dante card, etc. But R-1 can be an input and R-1 can also indicate an output? Why not RI and RO and similarly SI and SO for the surface? I know the difference of course but some others not so sure and I hope they don’t ever patch something the wrong way because they used the scribble strip to identify where something goes.

Another feature I would like to have is a dialogue box on each I/O point so that users can put some sort of their own note there. For example we plug into our stage boxes then patch this to dLive rack, surface, wherever. I would like to have that note to put for example: where our Kick R(input)-17 has a note ‘B-1’ (our band snake channel 1). Does that make sense?

Perhaps this is too long winded but then also I know I observed a glitch but could not reproduce it later, was so weird. We had channels ‘safe’ from our Christmas stuff and the mix light did not come on when you pushed ‘safes’ button. If I made it safe/unsafe on the ‘preamp’ screen the box showed blue but the safes softkey did not light up the mix led. However, if I used the safes + mix to turn safe on both the safe indicator on the preamp screen AND the mix led responded. Was that maybe becasue I did the firmware upgrade and was running an old scene. I wanted to show this to another one of our team but at that point everything worked perfectly, but this was also after clearing all the safes and re-saving everything.

Thanks
