I have an iDR-64 in a permanent installation. It is always on, never powered down, every few weeks it will lose its IP address and I cannot connect with the iLive software, also it does not show up on a network scan. If i power down the unit completely and restart it will reconnect to the network ( static IP ) and the software will connect.
Is the iDR-64 designed to be powered on all the time or should it be shut down when not in use, if so, what is the proper shutdown. Just flip the switch on the back?
Can I use a power controller and just switch AC to the unit off or would that cause damage to the equipment?
