IDR Expanders

Hello,

I’m writing to clarify the use of IDR expanders with the Multi-out card. One of my links goes directly into an IDR-8 for DSP management of my various speaker zones. This only requires the use of the audio output to sync/slave clocks. I’m curious whether it is necessary to run the IDR link to sync the multi-out card to the IDR expander, and if not what is the function of this link? Sorry if I have missed the reasoning in my scanning of the literature, and thanks for your input.

Hi Jason

The DR-Link on the Mini Multi Out Module and Multi Digital out Card are used for sending metering data only to iDR-out + iDR D-Out front panel LED’s.

The iDR8 has the ability to assign what is displayed on its front panel LED’s via System manager so the DR-link is not necessary when linking Mini Multi Out Module and Multi Digital out Card to iDR8.
