Hello forum, I wondered if anyone using an old analogue system noticed any differece in output levels when changing over to i-live.

I was using an ML5000 until we decided to go digital and noticed a considerable drop in system level when using i-live running at 0db out level compared to ML5000 at 0db (outboard devices were removed from analogue set up to do the comparison test).

To bring audio level back to near normal in speaker system i have had to add +6db of gain to inputs levels of XTA speaker processing.The XTA’s were driven straight from desk originally, now obviously from mix-rack.

Any comments welcome.

Yes, noticed it too - this is normal as far as i experienced…

You have to push the fader about 5db higher to get the same output as on other desks.

But i can tell you - you get used to it.
