"If you patch this, it will remove that" function i the IO screens

Hi there
I’m relatively new to the SQ6, but one of things that has caused a lot of lost time and frustration is when I often inadvertently patch an input and output that removes another patch on another IO screen (for example when moving between USB inputs and Local ones)

I know that channel will be “greyed out” at the top but what would be really handy would be to be told WHAT exactly I might be disturbing, so I can make an informed choice if its a wise move or not.

This one feature would make using the IO screens much more intuitive, and avoid that horrible “I know there is an issue BUT I don’t know how to find it” feeling!!

Thanks for listening.
Overall this is wonderful desk, and its clear that a great deal of effort has gone into thinking through how to make it a very powerful and effective mixer. Bravo!

You’re right that something like that could be really helpful sometimes.
Perhaps you should take a look at the great app “Mixing Station” by David Schumann from this point of view.
There you have a locked mode where “Current” and “New” are showed for each patch and you can decide each time whether you want to make the change or not.

Regarding changing your inputs: You can also easily store input channel patches in a library and recall them up again (see also manual at page 25).

And last but not least, you can also store recurring patches as scenes and only allow the patches you want when loading them.

Your SQ has so many options …
