[EDIT: Solved. See below - just new device requiring new round of discoverability.]

I’ve owned a CQ-20B since early this year and have used it regularly with a musical theatre company for rehearsals, as a small venue mixer, and as a mobile recording rig for a variety of projects associated with a local recording studio. It has been a fantastic tool that I’ve used both as a standalone device and as an audio interface. Quirks that have shown up have generally been manageable, but this one has me stumped:

It simply won’t show up as a Bluetooth audio destination with my new iPhone 18 Pro. It’s like it isn’t there at all, even though my MacBook Pro and iPhone 15 Pro both see it and have no issues connecting. All three devices are on the latest corresponding 27.0.1 operating systems.

Has anyone else seen something similar?

I think the CQ turns the Bluetooth back to non-discoverable at some point (guessing a power off/on but don’t remember) as a safety feature. Any chance you forgot to set it to discoverable? I forgot once after not having connected anything for a while before I remembered…so it’s easy to do. I was annoyed/confused for a bit before my “D’Oh” moment 🙂

I’ll power it up and double-check later today, but the first time I noticed the issue I went back and checked it on another device where it still showed up. So I’m mildly skeptical, but it’s possible that it was a device where I had previously established a connection and that bypasses discovery. Stay tuned!

So, was that other device already previously connected? If it was, then it will still find/connect to it. But any device that was never connected to it won’t be able see it unless it is set to discoverable.
I guess just let us know how the test goes and we can take it from there 🙂

… and of course a simple round of discoverability / discovery did the trick. Nothing to see here, problem solved.

I should be used to the dance following a device upgrade but since I tend to keep a phone for three years it’s _juuuuust_ long enough between times that I forget the rituals required.
