Is there a way to turn off effects from the stage?

I’m a singing drummer in a rock trio that just purchased a CQ-20B, our first digital mixer. In the past, if we did announcements from stage or had between-song patter, it always sounded goofy because the vocal effects were still on.

Is there a way to turn off the effects from the stage, like with a footswitch? Would we have to make separate scenes and send midi to the CQ?

There is a custom screen where you can assign actions to the software buttons and footswitch. I’m not at the mixpad software at the moment to check the specifics but I think I saw a setting for FX mute, given it’s a common action required by performers.

An easy way is to use the footswitch. It can be configured to mute one of the four Mute Groups of the CQ20B. You can assign the FX you want to mute to that specific mute group and that’s it.

Yes, there should be a setting available to mute all fx at once. I saw this too.

You can assign a soft key to MUTE FX and you’ll be able to control that soft key via midi.
You can also assign a MUTE FX to a footswitch for manual control.
