Hi everyone. I have an issue with an SQ5. My 4 FX racks are having feedback constantly. Nothing is sent into my fx send but the send and the return are receiving signal.
It looks like digital loop
The next 4 racks have simply no signal whenever I add an FX to it, whether it be mix->return or insert.
I tried updating the firmware (it was in 1.5.3 and is now in 1.6) and reset the desk but nothing happened
This isn’t a programming error.
You’re most likely selecting an FX mix, raising the corresponding FX return fader in that mix, and so sending it back into the FX => loop.
I’m not sending anything to my FX mix, every fader is down when i select my FX mix 1,2,3 or 4. My FX return are all down
You reset your console (nothing connected?) and then did nothing else, and yet you still see the signals you described in your FX racks?
How did you reset your console?
Nothing is connected to it. I pressed EQ In and HF when powering the desk switched to my layer C and D and still saw that loop
If you’ve performed a hard reset and you’re still seeing full scale noise on your FX returns, this suggests a hardware fault.

Thank you, I just sent an email
Check your usb routing. Most likely you builded a loop there.
Sorry - just out of curiosity:
Could you please tell me what USB routing I need to do to create such a loop – on a console with nothing connected and after a full system reset?
By default L/R is patched to usb output 1/2. If you use Tie Lines you could build a loop. I can’t remember how i did it precicely but I had this issue but solved it by resetting the usb and tie lines patch.

I checked every in and out routing points…
