Keyboard Input for Numeric Values

Hi A&H Team. I have a suggestion for the Director Software. While I realize the software is designed to emulate the console, it would be useful to be able to quickly use a keyboard to set a numeric value in the software. It’s quite difficult to work remotely using a mouse(without the console present) and ensure you are getting the values you want. I would love if I could just select a text field, type a value wanted, hit enter, and move on. The same goes for many of the other text-based fields.

Most values can be input directly via MixingStation, I rarely use director for that stuff anymore

With Director you can right click on most numerical fields, enter a value then press enter. I’ve checked EQ, FX, Gain, Comp, Gate.

As Isaac mentioned, I know the DLive Director software supports “right clicking” an object to type in a specific number. I don’t know if that functionality is also found in the Avantis Director or not.

I will simply add that you need to “right click” on the number you want to adjust this way. Not the graphical fader or knob of the setting you want to change, but the actual number (generally below the graphic) being displayed. It took me longer than I care to say to figure this out because I kept trying to right click the fader or knob (which doesn’t do anything), not the actual number being displayed. I honestly thought this feature wasn’t working correctly, but it was just user error on my part.

The “right-click” to edit feature is not currently in the 1.35 version of Avantis Director. I’ve checked a number of variables and none of them seem to accept any input from a left or a right click.

I agree….the Yamaha software has this option.
