Metering question

I have a QU16 and a DBX PA2 Driverack and am having weird gain structure issues. When I send a square wave signal from the mixer to the pa2 while the mixer meter is at 0, the input meter on the pa2 is way below 0. There is a +4 / -10 impedance switch on the back of the pa2 and I currently have it set to +4 cause it’s a digital mixer. My question is fairly simple, the meter on the mixer, is it measuring dbu or dbfs? I have a feeling if I set the pa2 impedance to -10 the input meter will show close to 0.

To set this up, I would recommend using the SigGen on the Qu to send a 1kHz Sine wave @ 0dB to the main output (or the output you’re using) with the master fader for that output also set to 0dB/unity.
Then ensure you’re using balanced cables to connect to the PA2, switch the inputs to +4 and set the input gain to unity.
Finally, check you are seeing what you should be on the PA2 meters as described in the manual here - https://dbxpro.com/en/product_documents/driverack_pa2_manual_5044138-apdf#page=6&zoom=auto,-265,116

Note that the meters on the PA2 are dBFS, so for an input signal around +4dBu, you should see the signal showing at between -20 and -15.

Ok thanks. So you’re saying with a sine wave generating in the mixer at 0, the input on the DBX should read around -20 to -15? If I’m understanding this correctly then that answers my question because the input meter on the dbx only goes from -20 to 0. So it barely registers which is what my concern was.
