Recently the display on my SQ-5 has started to mirror rotate. The behavior seems to be random. Another oddity is that, for example, on the log-out screen, the touch does not work at the virtual button location, but where the button should properly be. After updating the firmware to 1.5.8 there was no change.

Well that’s certainly not right and not something I’ve seen before I’m afraid.
Please contact us directly using support.allen-heath.com or speak directly with your local distributor (https://www.allen-heath.com/where-to-buy/) - My guess from the information you’ve provided is that there is an issue with a connection or the screen module hardware itself, rather than anything that could be caused in firmware.
