Mix/Bus organization and numbering

Currently, the dLive organizes Mixes/Busses based on their type, with mono mixes grouped together and stereo mixes grouped together. I’d like the ability to freely order mono and stereo mixes together, similar to the way DiGiCo allows bus organization.

For example, I would like to be able to organize my buses like this:

  1. Drums CL — Stereo

  2. Drums PC — Stereo

  3. Bass CL — Mono

  4. Bass PC — Mono

  5. Keys CL — Stereo

  6. Keys PC — Stereo

Rather than having the console force all mono buses together and all stereo buses together.

The numbering should also remain sequential based on the user’s organization:

  • Mix 1 = Drums CL (Stereo)

  • Mix 2 = Drums PC (Stereo)

  • Mix 3 = Bass CL (Mono)

  • Mix 4 = Bass PC (Mono)

  • Mix 5 = Keys CL (Stereo)

  • Mix 6 = Keys PC (Stereo)

This would make bus organization much more intuitive for complex show files, particularly when building a mix structure around instruments or musical groups.

Ideally, users could choose Mono or Stereo independently for each Mix, while retaining the ability to reorder the Mixes however they want without being constrained by their format.

I agree 100% with this request.

Obviously we can place “faders” on the Surface as needed, but we cannot change the order of mixes throughout the rest of the console. It’s these “other” places where busses are listed where it would be really nice to be able to change the order they are presented in.

For example, we have both stereo and mono monitor mixes. We have both stereo and mono FX sends. Currently the mono and stereo busses are listed with a bunch of unrelated busses in between them. It makes it much less intuitive to work than it would be if we could list all the busses (regardless if they are mono or stereo, etc) in whatever order we wanted.
