Go fro 64 to 96 or more. Should just be a software update.
Bullshit bingo? What a first post!
The suggestion clearly is from technical Point Not correct but that is still No reason for being impolite.
There is a saying, If you dont know Something nice to say, say nothing. That seems to me a good starting Point fir you, Steffen.
dLive is what you need
I doubt this is going to happen based on several assumptions…
First, it’s a “simple software update” ONLY if the system has enough spare processing power to support another 50% (or more) increase in CPU demand. While A&H surely builds in a little spare capacity, I doubt it is that high. Therefore my guess is that there simply isn’t enough spare processing power to support that many new channels. Furthermore, if you add more processing channels, people are going to want more FX racks, more Dyn8 instances, etc, etc, etc which requires even more processing power to support.
Second, A&H already sells a 128 channel console system. It’s called the DLive and I really doubt A&H would consider “watering down” the sales of the DLive with a 96 channel Avantis. Besides, the total cost of a 96 channel Avantis would likely run very close in price to a comparable DLive system (at least a CDM32 MixRack with a CTi1500 Surface which would look very similar to a 96-128 channel Avantis Solo).
Long story short, if you want more capacity than an Avantis - buy the DLive. There are even scenarios where you can get a DLive system for less cost than an Avantis. Now granted that means going without a physical Surface with the DLive, but it is possible to accomplish.
PS - I upgraded from an Avantis to a DLive and it was totally worth it. It’s not the extra channels that make the difference in my case (I could get away with just the 64 that the Avantis offers), but it is 1000 small things that the DLive does better. Each one by itself might seem inconsequential/trivial, but when combined together, the advantages of the DLive are enormous. Honestly I would have trouble going back to the Avantis because the DLive is so much easier to use (due to a much larger feature set).
Some of the better features include: MUCH better FX with the RackUltra card, a much larger selection of FX types (which are all available out of the box and don’t require any “addon” subscription fees), 64 Dyn8 instances, more granular scene and global recall filters, more robust libraries that allow you to save recall entire processing chains easier (channel, buss, etc), the “actions” functionality, the ability to customize your Director layer layouts regardless of what your layers are set to on the console, etc, etc, etc. - and that is just scratching the surface of what is different and why the DLive is so much better than the Avantis.
That means the initial statement is senseless? Indeed.
And I believe you don’t know the Bullshit Bingo game.
Ok, not enough words for a whole set.
