Hi I’m in a small church about 10-15 people I’v got no manual. I’m playing songs through a ipad 2018 (6gen) from a music site. I got what sounds like high frequency distortion. None to Very little vocals on some songs yet instruments play.some weeks it’s good other weeks it’s bad. I’m using channel 16. I’m using a headphone jack from my ipad into the back of the mixing desk.
Could I use the usb port on the right of the device as an input?
Or
Would the sound be better if I played it through a laptop?
Any help would be appreciated.
You can find the manual on the A&H site. This will also teach you about your issue.
Good luck !

I’m afraid you’re using a cable with 2 3-pin connectors.
Your source (iPad) delivers unbalanced stereo - your mixer’s input is balanced mono.
This means that you only hear the difference between left and right.
This is why you don’t hear any vocals if they are evenly distributed between left and right.
So use a cable from the 3-pin iPad to 2 channels of the mixer.
Or a cable with 2 identical 3-pin plugs that fits into the unbalanced stereo input “ST3 In” on the top of the mixer.
