Offline Adjustments on MixPad

Hi all,

I just bought a CQ18t, we will use it on rehearsals for now, later for live settings, and was wondering if it is possible to make offline adjustment to settings and safe them later on?

I was thinking on recording a rehearsal set, put the SD in my laptop and make adjustments at home. Is this possible and can I save that as a preset on the CQ18t after?

much appreciated,

Kind regards,
Geert

This would be a great feature for me as I spend many days on the road for my day job and would love the opportunity to make adjustments without actually needing the mixer. I’ve not tried it, have you?

Hi Vin,
I haven’t found time to get the CQ set up, I’ll try to do a basic setup this weekend and see what I can do offline/online.
I’ll keep you posted!

seems to be possible if you use Mixpad on a laptop, not on an Ipad. Still have to set everything up and do some testing

Offline use of the CQ Mixpad app on my laptop (Win10x64) with the settings that are on my CQ20B would be very helpful.

We ship our gear (UPS, Pelican cases) to venues and then fly. We need to ship the gear at least 8 days in advance, so I don’t have my CQ20B for a week+ before a gig.

I would LOVE to be able to adjust things like Custom Layer assignments and names in that interim time …

Other units I have - such as RME audio interfaces and TotalMix - also seem to have this restriction. I am wondering if the issue is that these apps (CQ Mixpad and TotalMix for RME) are reading their configurations directly from the hardware and then saving their setups only as an auxiliary function. Or is it that the manufacturer doesn’t want folks using these apps unless they have the hardware present …

CQ-MixPad is a controller for the CQ, so all the data exists in the CQ. An offline mode (as we’ve done with SQ-MixPad) requires a ‘dummy’ backend to be built into the app along with mechanisms to move the data around without issue.
This is a possibility, but not a trivial task, so please do add this to the feature suggestions section (and/or add your vote), so we can balance it up against the other suggestions for consideration in a future update.
Thanks, Keith.

Thank you for that @Keith !

I can imagine the amount of work (and testing) needed to retrofit this type of capability into a software mixer, so I’m not even going to ask for this feature … I’m sure there are better places to put developer resources …
