Already love the new CQ series, seems a perfect fit for the usual small band.
I would like to plead for a tap point post EQ, pre compressor for the pre fader aux outputs.
Can´t have compression going to the monitors - and yes, there are still bands using monitors.
I too have just purchased the CQ-20B, from what I have see already compression isn’t activated for aux’s, but if the user does require comp on the aux’s, they can switch it on.
I´m not talking about activating the compressor on the aux sends!
I´m talking about the compressor in the input channels (usually you would to this on vocals, bass and acoustic guitars) and sending the preFader signal to a aux bus.
A.t.m. there is only the option for preFader and postFader, so one would use the preFader option for sending signals to monitors - which now includes the channel compression.
This isn´t really helpful for a singer who uses a monitor for controlling himself because you already managed dynamics in the vocal channel for the front mix.
That´s why i ask for a added tap point postEQ but preCompressor for the aux sends - this tap point already exists as “Post EQ”, i´m sure i´ve seen it in the menu for the sd recorder.
I am sure the QU series are the same, I will have to fire mine up as I cannot remember. But I recall it ever being a problem and I have been using them weekly since Jan 2014.
I will be putting the CQ through its paces today at a rehearsal with the band in preparation for a small tour we have coming up, so will report back on how I find it.
Just wanted to correct my first post after demoing a CQ18T yesterday: Indeed the signal tap point for auxes set to „pre fader“ is before the channel compressor as stated in the manual (which wasn’t availiable the time i requested the feature). The signal to a pre fader aux for stage monitoring isn‘t compressed and i‘m happy the way it is. Fellows have requested a tap point at pre-eq which would no use for my application but fits better in their workflow.
