If no ethersound is needed at either foh or mon surface can I go esa-out on one rack to esa-in on the other rack to do a foh/mon split? Has anyone tried this?
Still not sure on the difference between ethersound A and B.

No I am afraid we do not currently support PortA to PortA link between two mixracks. PortA has been designed as a dedicated audio link between Mixrack and Surface.
If you were to attempt this configuration you will find there are some routing and sync issues that you need to get around.
PortB has been designed for system expansion therefore I suggest you remove the ES cards from your Port A slots and move them to Port B, you can then do the digital split as recommended.
