Power cut means CQ doesn't save multitracks?

Yes, yes - it must be possible!
@MarkF promised to let us know if something isn’t possible:

And since they still haven’t dispelled the illusion after four months and are still allowing us to vote for it, his R&D engineers are certainly working hard on the implementation. :+1:

ah, ok! nice to hear my pessimism was premature

Well, I unfortunately forgot to hit the stop button once again at Saturday’s show, but fortunately can confirm that the recovery procedure that @SQuser posted above worked great on these files as well.

Very glad this recovery process exists!

Probably the only way to implement a save failure is to have it save every minute or so during recording. At least you’d only lose a minute.

An “automatic” save would have to finalize the tracks and start a new file for the audio being recorded after the save. Doing that every minute would create a ton of files which would be a real pain to manage. No thank you……

In related news, the CQ does finalize th files if you run into the size limit of your sd card.

(forgot to format it before our last show…got about half of it recorded, whoops)

It is saved to the sd card, just the file headers are not if you pull power. So the pc can’t see them but the data is there.
