this maybe a stupid question,but i am trying to wrap my head around preamp section of channels. Is the PEQ library and the Channel Library an either or? Or can you use both? what what be any advantages or disadvantages of either one. Tried finding some tutorials and just haven’t found anything that explains it in lamens terms to me.
see pic above post. original pic was too large
it is a stupid question because there were some questions in the same area of interestr in the last two weeks…
search!
preamp has nothing to do with PEQ
read this and stay @home

upps it was in the SQ Forum
but still a search would help
@rhill
see p89 of the document Steffen R noted
The screen you note allows you to choose either one to make further settings that are related
And to us mere mortals: they are related because
they are both in the channel strip of the block diagram
so it was not a stupid question
and was just a typical answer here
Don’t get too caught up on the presets, at best they would be a staring point. I have never used them but I have made and saved a couple of my own.
The presets can not take into account a lot of unknown variables like the voice or amp/instrument at the mic, the type of PA and room, stage volume and monitors, ect.
