Pre-Mute Aux Send

Is it possible to create a Pre-Mute Aux Send for a mix that stays active even when a channel is muted?

not in this system…
in Allen & Heath world a mute mutes everything

Why do you need this?

Same in Yamaha world, unfortunately!

It’s for a backline mix so he can hear instruments before they’re unmuted for checking and tuning.

Create a digital split and gang the channels? Except mute and sends, obviously ?

Depending on your global settings for direct outs, you could also use a pre-mute direct out.

How about a second PAFL?

Can each PAFL have separate settings? IE mix cue vs last cue?

since 1.80 you can send a mix (IEM) to a PAFL bus and can configure them independent from each other,
separated PAFL settings

Very cool.

Now if only they would add PAFL buttons to OneMix as I’ve been whining…

that would be silly… it will become a two mix app
one aux and one PAFL

With custom control you don’t really need onemix, just a bit of time with setting up layouts.
But they demonstrated this in their webinar, which I thought is a very ingenious implementation.

Incorrect.
Tons of reasons to have PFL for a musician, director or tech using OneMix. Tuning his instrument while in a scene where the channel is off, for backline techs who need to hear different instruments throughout the show, for people practicing without disturbing others (if their channels are off on the console), musical directors wanting to solo up specific instruments to hear how people are doing, people soloing a mic they don’t have in their mix (like a talkback or audience mic) – there’s lots of reasons!

All this is in my opinion not a usecase for OneMix
OneMix is the simple and easy to operate monitor mix solution.

You can build your own system with Custom Control for your needs…

You can build your own system with Custom Control for your needs…

Certainly that’s one way, but in it’s current form, it’s got a lot of limitations. No eq or processing adjustments, for example.

Just add a PAFL button on OneMix. Simple. Done.
If you don’t like it, don’t use it.

why is it that hard to understand?
that is not simple… wich PAFL for wich OneMix?
and you need more buses per monitor mix

this would be a real challenge and the effort is to high for that limited use

OneMix is a easy to use personal monitor control app and that is ok.

I don’t want to say the idea is bad,
I’m just trying to explain that changing OneMix is not the solution for your particular problem

There is no current solution, I’m suggesting a relatively simple one.

You can choose PAFL’s on MixPad, so it’s not that hard.

If you could truly limit the functions on MixPad then that would work too.

One of the main reasons I got into the dLive was because of it’s ability to have multiple PAFL buses. I just can’t use them the way I want and it’s frustrating.

Do you have a solution?
