Just finished soundcheck for tonight, tossed on some background music for the hour before show start.
Plugged my USB drive in and did the nightly format on the QU. While the formatting was happening, it was causing buzzing in the main LR feed.
Soon as the formatting stopped, the buzzing went away.
Haven’t tried reproducing the bug because I’m live at a gig and got a weird look from the venue owner.
There is a known issue where if you mute ST-3, the noise will stop. Could this be the issue you experienced?
That is normal, my UK released board has done that since day one, not really an issue.
Gee, maybe you could format the drive first thing when you turn on the board? I do that, and sometimes record the soundcheck too. Probem solved. I never heard the noise, but then I format the drive before I turn on the mains…
