At our shop we’ve got a few A&H mixers and stage boxes, but we’ve had issues almost every time we pair our new QU5 with our AR2412 stage box. Sometimes, the inputs from the stage box sound like they’re being put through a fuzz pedal. Level isn’t reduced or anything, and it’s still relatively intelligible signal, but there’s a lot of distortion. After updating the firmware on every console we have and some brief testing, we figured out that it only does the issue with the QU5/AR2412 combo, not with any other combo with the SQ7s or QU7 or GX4824 we have. We also figured out that it will only do the issue if the stage box is powered on after the console. If the stage box is turned on first, everything works like normal. This seems to me like it could be some sort of sync or clocking issue. It is a little annoying to have to warn any contractor that takes that gear out that it’s acting strange. Degrades trust in the company and the gear.
