if i record a channel post preamp, do i record it phase inverted if the inversion is active?

Yes.
You can see this in the signal block diagram in the reference guide or technical datasheet (page 5 here - https://www.allen-heath.com/media/SQ-5-Technical-Datasheet.pdf).

thx, that is good to know! especially for silent soundchecks, because then i have to phaseflip the inverted channels in my daw again for it to work correctly. i guess there’s no way to record directly after preamp gain and before phase inversion?
