The “touchscreen freezing” issue listed in the firmware release notes occurs when attempting to update from firmware version 1.03. That is a very specific issue that is not related to anything the OP is experiencing.
I’m pretty sure I have seen a video of the screens freezing when multiple screen inputs are attempted in a very short period of time (as in as fast as the person could touch). While this rapid fire type input would probably be rare for a single person to experience while interacting with the console normally, if two people were interacting with the screens at the same time, there would naturally be twice as many inputs in the same time span which might cause the problem.
I also found this post on the forum. Avantis Froze It talks about some other situations that might cause the console to freeze up.
Regardless, I would suggest to the OP that they reach out to A&H support through the official website support page. First, to make sure their experience is properly noted. Second, they might have some better suggestions or troubleshooting ideas.
