It’s mostly that I think a quick fader fade is a bit less jarring and a bit more elegant than a mute. It may be just my OCD and never heard by anyone ever, so the mute is probably a fine solution.

But Geoff’s idea is cool as well.

Nice to learn some new tricks in any case.

Tried the “assign” “un-assign” button today after getting the SQ back in the shop. It seems to provide as much fade as yanking the aux send fader down and I don’t need to be on a different layer. I’ll try it in anger the next time a similar situation occurs.
