Side Chain - how to?

Hi everyone,

Please accept my apologies in advance if I’m being stooopid … :smiley:

I want to use a different signal to control compression through a side chain, but I can’t find the setting to select this signal, if indeed this is possible …

I want to use vocal signals to trigger compression of the keyboards in our mix, to allow the voices to come through clearer without having someone ride the faders! :smiley:

Any help would be most appreciated.

I would add that I’ve trawled through the search results and watched what I believe to be the appropriate A&H videos on the YouTube channel.

You can select another signal as long as it is in the same ‘group of 8 inputs’ (hardware based restriction)

The new Multiband compression is GREAT!

However: it’s a shame that you can’t trigger compression in one band through side chain. Using side chain, you can only trigger the per-channel compression … or am I wrong?
