more dangerous when it decides on its own to go to sleep without asking and getting explicit okay first.
sleep mode in a live sound console is an absolute no go, accidental enabled could it easily ruin a show by it’s own
hah, yea console going to sleep mid show sounds like a nightmare. How about a “power down option” just hate leaving the SQ on overnight, or climbing over stuff every night to power down monitors.
Home screen?
Yes, the Home Screen. You are right Sleep Mode can get complicated quickly if given automatic options, time settings etc. Even more when returning to the desk, how would one know if the feature is still activated? Maybe its not a good idea to have it at all, better to leave it running and shut it off once a week or so like a desktop computer. I was thinking nothing over engineered, Shut Down/Sleep icon. I do suppose features like these can seem simple but can turn into monsters.
Actually I can see a use for this if implemented well.
You have to get round the back to use the power switch. And you get pops through FOH.
Maybe you want to leave things as they are for a while and come back a few hours later but turn all lights and mute all outputs. We’re talking sleep, not hybernation.

it is impossible to implement any sleep mode well enough
it is guaranteed that anything they try will byte many people in the arse or worse
the only good sleep mode is absolutely NO sleep mode.
I don’t think so unless I am missing something, right now I am settling for dimming the screen brightness overnight or when not in use. Yes if you turn it off from the back you get pretty brutal pops FOH.

Think about putting all of your key studio equipment on a power sequence system.
Turn on the master sequencer and everything will turn on in the power order, to turn
off the system first go into the SQ shut down mode and then turn off the power sequencer.
You powered monitors would be in the last stage of the sequence steps.
