Split 1 input to 2 qu mixers

Hey guys!
Is it possible to use the inputs of the qu sb and send it to the qu 16?

We need 2 separate mixes for video streaming and live theatre. The technician
wants to use different compressor settings and eqs. We don’t have a splitter.

So can we use the Xlr inputs with gain settings of the qu sb and send it to the
qu 16 via dsnake?

Thanks!

No.

It would be nice, but the way the clocks work in these desks means it’s not possible - and there may be other reasons too.

If you had an AB168 box, you could duplicate 16 inputs all within you SB and come up with 2 compleatly separate mixes (use 2 iPads, work out who controls what, and which outputs you’ll each use - maybe set up “guided access” for safety).

Otherwise, it’s good old fashioned analogue splits.

And this is not possible with the qu 16? To use the qu16 as a ab box?

Yes you can do it on the 16 too, but you’ll only get 2 x 8 channels.*

  • St 1, 2 & 3 can use pairs of preamps from the dSnake boxes, but remain stereo channels, so may not be as useful.

I wonder if you could use the USB-B port. It behaves like a direct out. Maybe that can feed the input channels via the USB-B on the second mixer.

** I don’t know that it can be done. I am only asking.
